Probing magnetic fields around high-mass protostars

Massive protostars are always found at the center of a cluster, where the gravity drives the mass accumulating process.  Yet detail morphology is modulated by magnetic fields and turbulence.  Imaging magnetic fields with polarized emission is a common practice in the millimeter-waveband.  This project is to understand the resolved polarized emission in massive star-forming regions.  The student will have chances to first image polarized emission in Orion as a practice and then advance to our recent ALMA polarization data sets.
