Interplaying between Young Stars and the Parental Molecular Cloud Clumps

The summer program will be on interplay between young stellar objects and their natal molecular clouds. We will use (1) the JCMT/Transient 850 micron emission as the tracer of warm cloud clumps and (2) the latest Gaia data of known young stars, to diagnose the spatial and kinematic correlation with the clumps. The goal is to see how a cluster survives the gas dispersal and consequent expansion/disintegration. The candidate should have a basic coding skill plus working knowledge of astronomy.
